Job Description
(Hired annually by the
Board of Control)
General Description
Assists the Pool Manager with daily pool activities for
the city of Delphos, with the assistance and supervision
of the Parks & Recreation Superintendent.
Work
Schedule
Time begins when the pool opens at the end of May or
when schedule dictates, June, July and August or when
the pool closes, approximately 90 days. Hours may vary
depending on the weather conditions. Recorded time to
be kept in accordance with the Parks & Recreation
Superintendent.

Duties
Public Swimming Pool:

Assistant to the Pool Director’s
responsibilities of pool management. |

Perform all tasks required of a pool director in
the pool directors’ absence. |

Perform all Lifeguard responsibilities. |
| |
• |
The Pool Director will set the work schedule and
train, with the assistance of the Parks &
Recreation Superintendent. |
Recreational Concession Stands:

Assistant to the Pool Director’s
responsibilities of concession stand management |
Normal Employment Standards
Graduation from High School or General Education
Development Certificate.
2nd
year lifeguard currently certified in lifesaving, first
aid and CPR. Minimum eighteen years of age.
Required knowledge, abilities and skills
Ability to work well with
others, ability to problem solve and be confident with
your decision making process. Record keeping,
scheduling and organizational skills. Knowledge of
lifeguarding surveillance rescue techniques.
Special Requirements
Ability to operate and maintain pool equipment, pumps,
filters systems, computer, keep records and work with
pool chemicals. Must have a valid drivers
license issued by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
Must be bondable.
